Oneness meets otherness: This is where traditions meet and bets placed as to which is older and more taditional. Two cities striving to find out which one can be the most modern. And when it comes to answering the question which one is crazier and mad, both Londerners and Zurichers alike just give a little sly smile. Swissness meets Britishness. So different, and yet, in some intimate sense, so similiar.
When it comes to our watches, we feel very at home in this melting pot of tradition and modernity, otherness and competition. Thus, when Zurich meets London, we have to be there, to be a part of it. And we are.
We have put together a small, but fine selection of watches for you, which unites the culture clash of these two cities in a unique way: either in complete harmony with one another or as a total provocation.
Sometimes it’s the watch faces that course with British racing blood, other times it’s the leather bands that make any given British tradition appear stuffy and old- fashioned…or, vice versa, that pay homage to revered British traditions. It’s such themes as racing, sports and craziness, classic and modern in material and form that infuse the watches we curate and which vie to captivate your attention.
“Zurich meets London — a Festival of Two Cities” is a part of a series of festivals designed to engage Zurich in a fertile dialogue with the most inspirational cities in the world. In 2016, it takes as its cue the 100th anniversary of the Dada movement to present a multi-venue festival of performances, talks, workshops and other events to explore the contemporary relevance of visionary movements and scientific discoveries in the two cities — Zurich and London.
We invite you all to explore the diversity of creative life in Zurich and London!
